Profile
Dr. Biswajit Bera was awarded M.Sc and Ph.D from Calcutta University in 2001 & 2008. He has done P.G.Certificate Course in Ground Water Hydrology from IISWBM. His fields of research interest are Geo-Hazards, Landslide and Environmental Geography, Fluvial Geomorphology and Ground water Hydrology. He has attended 7 international and more than 30 national seminars. He has published 20 papers in national, international journals and edited volumes. Dr. Bera is life member of Indian Institute of Geomorphologists, Association of Hydrologists of India, Indian Science Congress, ILEE, Indian Association of Cartographers, Himalaya Samiksha Parisad, Institute of Education, Science and Culture and Geographical Society of India etc. He has received best paper award in national seminar, 2006 organized by ILEE. He has received Best Young Geomorphologist Award in 2008 in IGI platform and has also got International Young Geomorphologist Scholarship in 2009 in Australia (IAG). He published a text Book of Hydrology for U.G and P.G level. Dr. Bera is also written two study materials for DDE, RBU. He was invited by the Indo-German Association (Maxmullar Bhaban) for presentation of his research paper. He is also executive member of Indian Institute of Geomorphologists and Himalaya Samiksha Parisad. He visited Australia, Bangladesh and Singapore. He was also invited by different colleges for special lecture about landslide. He is also attached as a Guest Faculty Member in P.G. Department of Asutosh College and Bhairab Gangully College. Now, four papers are in press for publication.
