Tuhin Kanti Ray is specialised on Urban and Transport Planning. His 5 articles have been published in referred journals in India. His published articles are Determination of the Urban Zone of Influence-A Quantitative Exercise; An Appraisal of Slums and Slum Dwellers and few Recommendations on Slum Improvement, A case study of Barasat Municipality; Bhugol Bisaytir Moulikotto; Utsaber Darjeeling; Rabindranath Tagore and Contemporary Issues in Geography.
His scholarships and fellowships include the National Scholarship in Madhyamik Pariksha and State Funded Research Scholarship for Doctoral Research. He participated in various national and international seminars and workshops in India. In last three years he presented papers on various dimensions of human and social geography at the various universities of India including Pune University, Punjab University, Osmania University, Bangalore University and Calcutta University. He is a member of few professional societies. namely, Indian Institute of Landscape Ecology and Ekistics, Institute of Indian Geographers, Indian Geographical Foundation, Regional Science Association, The Geographical Society of India and Himalaya Samiksha Parisod. He was invited by the Saradamani Girls College, Bankura to give lecture in 2009 and 2010.
