Jayeeta Ray, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Rabindra Bharati University teaches English and American Literature along with Cultural Studies. Is pursuing Ph.D from University of Calcutta. Graduated from St.Xaviers College, Kolkata. Passed Masters in English from University of Calcutta. Passed a P.G.Diploma course in Mass communication from Jadavpur University scoring first class marks. Also completed B.Ed from, University of Calcutta, Alipore Campus. Has cleared National Eligibility Test as JRF in 2000. Joined as a Lecturer in English at Surendra Nath College for Women in the year 2003. Later joined Rabindra Bharati University in the year 2006.
Has presented papers at National Seminars at Symbiosis College, Pune, CLAI – Hyderabad, DDU – Gorakhpur University. Has made numerous publications in journals both in the home University as well as outside. Moreover has been invited for moderation duty to Gour Banga University. Has been serving the University as Deputy Director, Tagore Gandhi Centre for Research and Training. Also serving the Department of English as Teacher-in-Charge of the Departmental Library. At present is a member of the Executive Committee of the Teacher’s Council.
Extra-Curricular Activities: Is a regular stage performer. Performed in almost all the stages in Kolkata and also outside, for instance, in Mumbai. Also a member of “Natya Anan” conducted by Mr. Chandan Sen. Has worked an actor in feature films.
