Profile

Born on the 22nd of June, 1977 Arindam Mridha is the eldest son of the renowned Sanskrit scholar Prof. Dr. Bidhan Chandra Mridha (late) and Smt. Puspa Lata Mridha. An ex- South Pointer, he has completed his graduation and post-graduation from Rabindra Bharati University. He has successfully qualified the SET(with URF) in the year 2003. He has joined the Department of English, Rabindra Bharati University as a whole-time Lecturer in the year 2004. He is pursuing his Ph. D under the able guidance of Prof. Dr. Subir Dhar. He has completed his Orientation Program (Grade-A) from NIAS, Bengaluru and Refresher Course(Grade-A) from University of Calcutta. He teaches English and New English Literatures. He is a critic, editor and translator and his writings and translations have been published in journals of distinction. He has edited a book on Margaret Atwood. He has delivered talks in Universities and institutions located in the states of Nainital, Visakhapatnam, Chennai and West Bengal. He has served and is at present serving on various Universities as an External Examiner.
Director of U.G.C. sponsored Seminars on the “Literature of the Americas” (14th March, 2007), “Tagore and Translation” (25th March, 2009), “Texts, Contexts and Critical Theory: Post-WWII Scenario” (15th March,2010) in the Department of English, Rabindra Bharati University.
He has been a Programme Officer of N.S.S. (RBU Chapter) from 2004 to 2009.
