Hitendra K Patel teaches Historiography, history of Twentieth Century World, Modern India and History of Great Britain. He is a historian, novelist and a literary critic. More than 30 articles (on themes related to History and Hindi literature) have been published in reputed journals and edited books. His published books are Communalism and the Intelligentsia in Bihar 1870-1930 (Orient BlackSwan, Delhi. 2011); Khudiram Bose: Revolutionary Extraordinaire (Publication Division, Delhi, 2008) [Revised version’s Hindi edition was published as Khudiram Bose: Ek Apratim Krantikari in 2011]; Hitendra Patel, D. Chaubey & Badrinarayan (eds.), 1857: Bharat ka Pahla Mukti Sangharsha (Prakashan Sansthan, Delhi, 2008) Haaril (Antika, Delhi, 2009) [a Hindi novel].
He is the Editor of Shabdakarma Vimarsha (a Hindi journal). He received ICHR Fellowship for Doctoral research, UGC support for Research Project on Communalism. He had been Associate Fellow at Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, Visiting Fellow at the University of Burdwan and Visiting Fellow at Gorakhpur University. Invited to deliver lectures in different Universities and Institutions. Besides History departments, University departments of Hindi, Political Science, Gandhian Thought and others have frequently invited him for delivering Key-note addresses and Special lectures. At present, he is Co-coordinator of M Phil and Ph D Courses of History Department.
