Professor Sanat K. Ghosh teaches Educational Psychology, Curriculum Development, Comparative Education, Special Education, Distance Education, and Contemporary Educational Policies.
He is an educationist with thorough research foundations. He has already successfully supervised nine Ph.D. Projects and 27 M.Phil/ PG Dissertations, published more than 50 research papers/ articles in the national and international journals of repute, contributed chapters in four books and published four books in his credit. He was the Founder Editor of the Journal of Education: RBU (ISSN: 0972-7175) and Indian Journal of Special Education (ISSN: 2229-3612), and also edited four issues of the Rabindra Bharati Patrika (ISSN: 0975-0037).
Fie had received the Young Scientist Award (A) by the Indian Science Congress in 1981. Later he was the technical advisor of an international project on "Education for All" at BRAC, Bangladesh sponsored by UNICEF during 1999-2000. He has also completed UGC financed three Minor Research Projects and one Major Research Project, entitled, "Development of Realistic Classroom Teaching Models: a search from Reality'". Furthermore, three MHRD funded collaborative national level research projects with Ed-CIL, NUEPA and Jamia Millia Islamia respectively have been completed. At present, he is associated with the West Bengal Literacy Mission. Government of West Bengal. International Human rights Council, All India Association for Educational Technology. All India Association for Teacher Education and different Universities in India and abroad.
He was designated as officiating Vice-Chancellor of the University for several times during the period 2007 to 2011. He has been discharging his duties as Dean, Faculty of Arts since 2007. Earlier he was the Director (Acting) of the Directorate of Distance Education from 2006 to 2011 and Head (Acting), Department of Adult, Continuing Education, Extension Work and Field Outreach for two years. At present he is the Director, Centre for Counseling and Disability Studies, an interdisciplinary study centre of the University and Coordinator of the NAAC Steering Committee.
