SUBRATA SAHA, Professor, Department of Education; Faculty of Arts, Rabindra Bharati University teaches Educational Psychology, Research Methodology, Comparative Education, Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology at the M.A., M.Phil., and B.Ed levels. He was also the Head of the Department of Education. He is a recipient of National Scholarship. He ranked first in the first class both at the M.Sc (Education) and B.T examinations. His teaching career of more than two decades has earned popularity among the students and the academic world. He is engaged in active research independently and also as supervisor of Ph.D and dissertation works at the M.A and M.Phil levels. His published books are Alternative Education (ISBN 81-89886-14-2) and Cognitive Correlates of Academic Achievement in Primary School Children (ISBN 978-81-8988620-2). He has published a good number of research articles at the National and International journals and also presented many papers at workshops, seminars and conferences. He has a long experience in editing the 'Journal of Education: Rabindra Bharati University'. He was invited as an expert in the capacity of speaker, member and visiting professor in different universities and institutes of higher learning in India. He is a life member of The Asiatic Society, Kolkata. He is an expert in different bodies of national importance like UGC, NCTE etc. He visited China in the year 2009 and gave a talk on 'Potential Areas of Educational Collaboration between India and China' in the Department of South Asian Studies and International Politics, Yunnan University, China and also gave a radio-talk on 'Future Possibilities of Educational Collaboration between India and China' in China Radio International, Beijing.
