Dr. Madhuri Majumdar is an exponent of Kuchipudi Dance. She had undergone her training in Kuchipudi under the auspicious guidance of Padmabhushan Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, the doyen of Kuchipudi Dance at Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai. She had done B.A & M.A. in Kuchipudi from Rabindra Bharati University and got First class First. She received Ph.D degree from the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. She was the recipient of Junior Fellowship from the Dept. of Culture , Govt. of India. She is an empanelled senior grade artiste for the ICCR, EZCC and ‘A’ grade artiste for Doordarshan. She has performed Kuchipudi in India and abroad. She has also performed under the direction of her Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam in his ballets for Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai. She has authored several articles on Kuchipudi dance in different reputed journals and ‘Kuchipudi Nrityakatha’ ,book on history and art of Kuchipudi Dance.
