Dr. Biswanath Chakraborty’s specialization is on Public Administration including Rural Development , Panchayat and Municipal Administration, Indian Government and Politics and Psephological Studies. In his credit there are 13 published books, 5 Monographs and around 25 Articles. Out of thirteen books, seven books entered into the best seller list. His publications include “Participation in West Bengal Panchayat System” and “Delimitation Commission: Working and Impact”, (with Debasis Sen). He has been invited by the different colleges, universities and institutions on national and inter-national seminar / workshop etc. to give lecture on different issues including local government and politics, national and state politics and psephological studies. In 2012, he is invited by the Election Commission to give lecture on Participation and Election on Second National Voters' Day. He is involved in the various research projects sponsored by UGC and other institutions. He is also involved as the Co-ordinator of National Service Scheme (NSS), Rabindra Bharati University and also as the Director, Centre for Studies in Decentralisation and Rural Reconstruction (CSDRR), RBU. He appears regularly in different Television Channels and Radio and also in Print Media as a Political Analyst. Two publications one on The Emerging Role of State Election Commissions in India and other on Theories of Inter National Relations are waiting.
